I started this blog to talk about my total hip replacement at the age of 37. I wanted to create awareness about hip replacements and what to expect. My story is chronicled in my earlier posts.

Hip Chicks
I joined this new group called Hip Chicks.................yeah! Wish I had found them before my surgery.
Hey Laura!! I'm glad you joined us... I am the creator of Hip Chicks, and just wanted to say, that it wasn't around when or before you had your surgery, haha... I have just been diagnosed with CHD a few months ago after years of pain.... so I decided to start the support/network .... it's only really been up and running for maybe 2 months..... so i'm really glad you found us!!
Hello there - I suffer from CHD have since birth unfortunately. Anyway I have never met, not even online, another woman who's suffered hip dysplasia and I'm happy I stumbled across your blog - I would love to chat sometime, if you use Twitter my id is @idream1! I was thinking about opening a new blog regarding living with dysplasia myself!
I'm Laura...most call me Lulu. I am married and have 4 biological children and 1 step-son who lives with us full-time. I have a titanium hip which has saved my life! I can now say I am pain-free. This blog is mostly about my ongoing journey with my new hip. I just talk about what's on my mind.....my hip, my kids, my views, whatever. Aging and the scars of my life that I sport are all things I am proud of and I wouldn't go back and change anything (well, that's not entirely true). Some I've disappointed, some I've made proud.
